Peter Alexander Romero’s life is devoted to the arts.  As a painter, sculptor and former ballet master, Mr. Romero translates movement, color and form into many media.  His origins in the Caribbean are easily seen – his sculpture is heavily influenced by the art of the Taino Indians who once populated the larger Caribbean islands, including his birthplace, the Dominican Republic.  His paintings synthesize the vibrancy of Latin life and nature in the islands and the fluid and graceful movements of ballet. Mr. Romero has won a number of awards for art and performance over a 25-year career. Among recent honors, he received the 2005 Ceramics Faculty Award from the Corcoran College of Art + Design in Washington. His art was featured on the front page of the Washington Examiner and in a recent issue of The InTowner.
